Lavette Throw

The Lavette Throw was designed by Nicoletta Aveni, a designer and architect based in Venice. Nicoletta works with geometry the way an architect works with space - every shape placed with intention, every colour chosen to do a specific job.

The Lavette Throw has that precision to it. The composition is built from large angular forms stacked and overlapping like a mountain range: soft sand, deep forest green, dusky pink, pale sky blue. Each peak is topped with a half-circle in a contrasting colour — crimson, slate blue, black which gives the whole thing a rhythmic quality. The palette shifts between warm and cool without ever losing its balance, which feels exactly right for someone who thinks about how rooms feel.

Every Slowdown Studio throw starts as an original artwork. We collaborate with independent artists around the world to translate their creativity into woven form. The Lavette Throw is jacquard woven in the USA from cotton with at least 25% recycled cotton: lightweight, textured, and built to last. Use it as a couch blanket, a bed blanket, a wall art tapestry, or wherever you need a little colour or personality.
